MHSAA presents Clevenger Athletics Scholarship to three Marion High School seniors

Marion High School Alumni Association congratulates this year’s winners of the Clevenger Athletics Scholarship: Amar Rogers, Taylor Stahlman, and Kyliegh Yeakle, all members of Marion High School’s Class of 2025.

This scholarship, new this year, honors the legacy of Kerry Clevenger, a Marion Giants icon. He took such pride in the purple and gold, and before his passing he supported countless Giants, helping to meet needs to get them to the next level. He is honored in our Athletic Hall of Fame and in the Hall of Distinction. And in this scholarship in his honor helps student-athletes overcome obstacles to reach for their dreams. In total, $1,500 was awarded this year.

Amar Rogers, $500 scholarship winner

Amar is a member of Key Club. He has played on the MHS boys basketball team.

He is considering either college or trade school for electrical engineering.

“Playing sports at Marion has taught me to stay focused day by day,” he said.

Taylor Stahlman, $500 scholarship winner

Taylor is a four-year member of the MHS volleyball team. 

In addition to being a member of the MHS Class of 2025, he has been a student in Grant Regional Career Center’s health sciences program. She has earned her nursing assistant certification (CNA), and she has been working as a CNA at Twin City Nursing Home as part of GRCC’s career education program. 

She plans to attend Indiana University – Kokomo with a career goal of nursing. 

“Playing sports at Marion has taught me the importance of having a good support team,” she said.

Taylor is also a recipient of another scholarship facilitated by the Marion High School Alumni Association: the Marion Giants Athletic Boosters Scholarship.

MHS senior Kyliegh Yeakle and Kellie Clevenger Street, daughter of Kerry Clevenger.

Kyliegh is president of the Class of 2025, president of Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica (Spanish Honor Society), and member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society. She is also a member of Key Club, M-Club, and jazz band, and she is an AP Ambassador. 

She is a one-year soccer player and and a three-year member of the track and field team.

Kyliegh plans to attend Indiana University – Indianapolis to study medical imaging technology, specializing in MRI.

“My experience at Marion has taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and collaboration,” Kyliegh said. “I am committed to turning challenges into opportunities for growth and success.”

Kyliegh is also a recipient of another scholarship facilitated by the Marion High School Alumni Association: the Jayson Taylor Family Scholarship. She was also selected for a Grant County Sports Hall of Fame scholarship, which was announced during the MHSAA’s scholarship awards.
