Marion High School Alumni Association congratulates this year’s winners of the Nellie and Rosie Business, Marketing, and Music Scholarship: Troy Brown and Andrew Hancock, both members of Marion High School’s Class of 2025.
This scholarship, new this year, is named for Nellie Eltzroth and Rosalyn “Rosie” Howell and established by their descendants in their honor. It provides assistance to graduating Marion Giants who plan to further education in the fields of business, marketing, or music. In total, $1,500 was awarded this year.

Troy Brown, $1,000 scholarship winner
Troy has been involved with Upward Bound, a college preparation program providing educational, social, and cultural experiences to high school students in order to develop them in character, scholarship and leadership.
He plans to attend Ball State University and major in business, with the goal of becoming an entrepreneur.

Andrew Hancock, $500 scholarship winner
Andrew is vice president of National Honor Society, a worship leader for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a member of Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. He is an accomplished musician, having played with the MHS jazz band and earned 2 gold state level medals at the Indiana State School Music Association’s Solo & Ensemble competition.
He is a four-year member of the MHS varsity boys soccer team, and he has also played with the Central Indiana Fútbol Club. He also competed with the MHS track and field team.
Andrew is a College Board national honoree and is in the top 10 academically in the MHS Class of 2025.
He is active in his church, where he is involved in the praise band and also part of the technology team. He has also been a member of the Nazarene Youth Council for several years.
Andrew plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan University and major in engineering and minor in music.
