The Marion High School Alumni Association is pleased to announce a new scholarship fund!
Aparna Raj Parikh, a member of the MHS Class of 2000, was very happy to see the news about three members of the MHS Class of 2026 admitted to Ivy League schools, along with many other impressive college admissions this year, and she wanted to help support Marion Giants today and long into the future. So she and her family have generously established the Aruna Scholarship Fund
Aparna excelled academically and played tennis for the Giants, with outstanding coaches to learn from and teachers who sparked her curiosity and pushed her to succeed, for which she is deeply grateful.
Aparna says: “I often think of people like Bill Beekman, Terry Williams, Mike Buck, Dave Tippey, Sandy Chapman, Bill Munn (and Diana Reese in middle school), Amy Teague, Barb Pack, Doug Porter, Dale Whonsetler, Fran Lockwood, and others — all of whom had a meaningful impact on my journey.”
Dr. Parikh currently serves as:
- Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School
- Program Director of GI Oncology at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute
- Director of the Global Cancer Care Program at MGB Cancer Institute
- Director of the Young Adult Colorectal Clinic
- Co-founder, Chief Scientist, and CEO of the nonprofit Reversing Early Recurrence
MHSAA is so grateful for Aparna and Mihir’s gift, which will impact generations to come! You can join them in supporting young women in Marion by giving to the Aruna Scholarship Fund.
