Marion High School Alumni Association congratulates this year’s winner of the Clevenger Athletics Scholarship: Jace Freshwater, a member of Marion High School’s Class of 2025.

This scholarship honors the legacy of Kerry Clevenger, a Marion Giants icon. He took such pride in the purple and gold, and before his passing he supported countless Giants, helping to meet needs to get them to the next level. He is honored in our Athletic Hall of Fame and in the Hall of Distinction. And in this scholarship in his honor helps student-athletes overcome obstacles to reach for their dreams. In total, $2,000 was awarded this year.

Jace Freshwater, $2,000 scholarship winner

Jace was a member of the Marion High School basketball team, earning a sectional championship. 

He plans to study business, and is still considering his college options. He also plans to play basketball at the collegiate level.

Jace is a 2026 recipient of three scholarships facilitated by the Marion High School Alumni Association: the Kerry Clevenger Athletics Scholarship, the Robert Hull Business Scholarship, and the James Blackmon Family Scholarship, for a total award of $3,500.
