Marion High School Alumni Association congratulates this year’s Marion High School winners of the Grant County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship: Halle Larson and Asa Weaver, both members of the MHS Class of 2024.

MHSAA was pleased to have the privilege of delivering these two awards on behalf of the Grant County Sports Hall of Fame. Halle and Asa were awarded $250 each.

Halle Larson, Marion High School Class of 2024, is a Grant County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship honoree. Here, she poses for a photo with the Marion High School Alumni Association Board. MHSAA had the privilege of delivering GCSHOF award.

Halle Larson has been a four-year varsity letter earner in three sports. In cross country, she earned most-improved and mental attitude awards. In swimming and diving, she earned coach’s and team spirit awards. In track and field, she earned leadership awards. In all three sports, she was named to the NCC All-Academic Team.

Halle is the president of National Honor Society, secretary of Art National Honor Society, senior class vice president, Student Senate vice president, and a member of Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society, M-Club, and the wind ensemble. She has also been active with her church and started a local chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

She plans to attend Olivet Nazarene University for business management, marketing, and communications. She also plans to join the ONU swim and dive team.

“Sports have taught me a lot about being flexible, adaptive, getting along with others and maybe most importantly how to be coachable, in all walks of life, not just sports,” Halle said.

Asa Weaver, Marion High School Class of 2024, is a Grant County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship honoree. Here, he poses for a photo with the Marion High School Alumni Association Board. MHSAA had the privilege of delivering GCSHOF award.

Asa Weaver has played football for four years, baseball for one year, and has been manager for the basketball team for two years.

He is an active member of his church, and he has also volunteered with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the TCC Backpack Giveaway.

He plans to attend Ball State University for business administration.

“My goal is to create a business that not only supports my aspirations but also contributes to the betterment of society,” Asa said. “This is a dream rooted in hard work, dedication, and a genuine desire to leave a positive mark on the world.”

Congratulations to these outstanding students!
